#TeamTUSD: Christina and Sergio Pizarro
Christina and Sergio Pizarro are a mother-son duo working at Ford Elementary. Christina has worked for Tucson Unified for 15 years, but this is her first year at Ford – at the request of her son. Sergio was already at the eastside school, but told his mother Ford could use another teacher like her.
“I came to love the school,” Christina Pizarro said. “I don’t know why I wasn’t here before, but he’s the reason why I’m here at this location.”
And by some stroke of luck, the two actually ended up being put together in the same classroom.
“It’s actually really enlightening,” Sergio Pizarro said. “She’s helping me grow to become a better educator, and I’m really grateful for it.”
