Heather Martin
A woman in a yellow jacket, blue shirt and glasses smiles in the libraryMs. Heather Martin has been part of the Ford Elementary School family for 16 years. Before that she worked at Reynolds Elementary as an after-school assistant and later as a Title I TA.

Heather is Ford’s School Community Liaison. She helps connect families with helpful resources throughout the district. Recently she has been busy coordinating donations, supporting programs like Blessings in a Backpack, and making sure families feel supported. As she puts it, “I get to help our kids and families and do something different every day.”

Heather also brings color and creativity to campus. She decorates hallways, involves students in art projects, and even helped start the school garden a few years ago. She laughs that it has become a project she just cannot let go of.

Outside of work Heather enjoys playing on a women’s soccer team and spending time with her two adult kids and her pets. At home she is proudly outnumbered by animals. “We have cheese dogs” she says. “Mozzarella and Gorgonzola.” They are both lovable little mutts.

Heather grew up in Tucson and attended TUSD schools all the way through high school. She graduated from Palo Verde and still remembers her first year there with Coach Mentz.

When asked why families should choose Ford she says, “We are a great small school and we know our families really well. Our teachers and staff truly care about our kids.”
